*Yep, that's the giant man from a week or so ago, and from the scenery it's obvious he's in Violet City. He's absolutely roaring with laughter from the back of his larger-than-usual Tauros.

And electricity is crackling from his fingertips. Also, does his hair look more spiky and yellow than normal?* Ha! If this world thought to lay me low from disease once again, it was sorely mistaken!

But if fever and illness are what must be endured as a price for these ... capabilities-- *SPARKS. Into the air!* --then so be it!

How fitting for the heir of mighty Zeus himself, would you not agree? Come, friends! Show me the bounty of your newfound power!

[Action; Violet City]

*CAREFUL or you might get run over by a man charging through the streets on the back of a Tauros with thunder crackling from his hands. And yet, he seems to be, in his own way, methodically testing his new capabilities in terms of the materials he's zapping - rarely with enough force to do any harm, though.

He rears his Tauros to a halt, patting its flank affectionately.*

You're a general, right? Commanding your partners in battle against another team would be the best way to see what you can do.

Ah, indeed! Very well then. I accept your challenge!

*And he hops off the Tauros, patting the creature's side proudly. It snorts, giving the little Pokemon a look.* How do we begin?

You tell it to attack your opponent's team, just like battling the wild ones. But you'll be up against another person who can likewise command and strategize.

*the electrike simply waits, ready to battle- she may be small, but she's had nearly a month to train, and she trusts her partner's judgment*

I see, I see... *And he steps back. For a long moment, he seems to be assessing this strange creature and her master, taking in the environment around them. It's a fairly narrow street, and he can use that to his advantage.* Then I suppose the first move shall be mine.

*He thrusts his arm out in a dramatic sweep.* Charge, swift Minos! Bear me to victory upon your horns!

*And with a bellowing roar, the Tauros lowers its head and charges.*

*the electrike tenses for action, but neither she nor her trainer lose their cool at the sight of the charging bull*

Queen, use Thunder Wave.

*with that she leaps forward with a cry, letting loose a paralyzing wave of electricity at her opponent*

Minos, evade as best you can! *And the bull tries, angling to the side, but it's going too fast to change direction quickly and the street is too small for it to dodge; the electricity hits and the bull's speed slows dramatically. It's still moving towards the littler Pokemon, just at a markedly reduced speed.*

Hm... then they can do even something like this? Remarkable...! *After a moment's thought, he raises his voice again.* Close the gap as best as you can! Overpower your foe with your Rage!

*And now that the bull is getting close, even moving at its slow speed, it snorts loudly - and lunges with its full body weight. Granted, its movement is a fraction of how quickly it had been - but it's still big, and the battlefield narrow.*

Queen, stand your ground and use Leer.

*with that the electrike braces herself against the attack, while giving the tauros an intimidating look meant to lower its guard*

Ha! While it's standing still, press the attack horizontally! Let your Rage build! *And indeed, the Tauros lowers its head, sweeping its horns to the side with a bellow.*

Just roll with the attack and keep it up a little longer.

*the electrike does as it's instructed, making an effort to minimize damage while keeping up with another Leer attack*

Continue! Use the force of your fury to knock it off its feet!

*And the Tauros roars, charging its smaller foe to try and do just that, every successive attack stronger than the one before it.* I see your ploy, one-eye. You mean to weaken my companion and defeat it in a single blow!

It won't work.

*shrug*

There's other uses for it. Rage only becomes more powerful if the one using it is hit by an attack, you know.

Queen, use Howl.

*and the electrike lets out a howl, boosting its own attack power*

*And for a moment, he looks annoyed.* And what have you been doing if not attacking?! Honestly, what an arbitrary rule--

No matter. Minos, intimidate it with a scary face!

Waiting for an opportunity.

Queen, attack with Spark now.

*finally, is clearly the electrike's attitude as she charges forward, her body surrounded by electricity. With her opponent slowed from paralysis and with a weakened defense, and her own attack power boosted, it's certainly a far more substantial attack than it might otherwise have been*

Obviously! *It's annoying that those setups don't count as attacks as he had anticipated. But he'll roll with the rules of the game.

And the Tauros staggers, falling to its knees for a moment before woozily righting itself. It's clear that attack was damaging, and Rider frowns for a moment before chuckling.* Of course-- something even like that won't put a warrior down so easily! Minos, attack your foe with your horns! Launch it into the air!

*now it's time for Geddoe to gamble. If Queen's speed hadn't been taken down a peg from that Scary Face, another Spark would probably do it, but as things stood, since he'd probably only have one more chance at an attack....*

Quick Attack.

*and with that the electrike rushes forward, preempting the tauros's attack with one of her own. If she's very lucky, a critical hit or well-timed full paralysis might just win it for her, but if not... well, she'd just have to take the Horn Attack and deal with it. And always always, both pokemon and trainer continue to battle with a certain calm professionalism*

Minos, your endurance is kingly among beasts! Withstand the blow and counter with all of your strength!

*The Tauros, however, is obviously on its last legs, and after the Electrike strikes, it collapses to its forelegs, struggling to stay upright. Still, it seems that the training that it and Rider have been doing - the long rides on which it's borne its massive rider - are paying off, and it does not fall.

But the way it counterattacks is weak indeed, a sweep of the horns in the direction of its foe. It's clear that one more attack won't be withstandable.*

*the electrike is only barely hanging in there, herself, staggering badly from even the weakened blow, but still unwilling to give up*

Again. Finish it quickly.

*the electrike musters all of her remaining strength for one more Quick Attack, the obvious intent being to try to take out the tauros before it can attack back*

*And the Tauros finally wavers and falls over...

...falling right in the direction of the electrike. Oops, better be quick.*

*well, the electrike sure does scramble to try to get out of the way, but probably isn't going to avoid at the least being sideswiped by the falling tauros

....yeah looks like keeping an escape route open is gonna have to be next on the training roster here :|a*

*If he's disappointed by the results, he doesn't show it, shaking his head and chuckling.* Ah, a well-fought battle! This little game has a very arbitrary definition of what constitutes an "attack," though... *He laughs aloud.* No matter!

You mean the Rage attack? It takes effect only when the one using it is hit with something that hurts it.

Yes, I understand that only too well now! *As he speaks he walks over to the collapsed Tauros, bodily lifting it off of its smaller foe with his immense strength.* Honestly, to have your strategy thwarted by an arbitrary rule - it's somewhat frustrating. But any commander must adapt.

*And then a grin.* You will not best me twice, one-eye. That I swear to you.

Depends on whether I get the drop on you again, doesn't it? Knowing more than your opponent does never hurts, after all...

Ah, but this is a game. And to win a game, one must understand its systems.
